When the ridiculously fun Chris & Mel asked me to do their wedding stationary I jumped at the chance - I knew they'd be up for something quirky and creative and with only 60 invites to produce I knew we could really push the boat out.
Due to the fact that Chris owns a recording studio and is an all round musical genius, coupled with the duo's love of retro - it seemed appropriate to produce these gorgeous 7" vinyl invites. The 45s were all purchased at a local charity shop and showcased some absolute classics from Tom Jones, Simple Minds, Tina Turner and the particularly cleverly titled "I Second That Emotion" from Japan.
All the sleeves were hand finished and sealed up in a brown card envelopes ready to land on the doorsteps of Chris & Mel's friends and family - those old enough or cool enough to still have a vinyl deck got an extra treat - the mystery of who would start bellowing out when the needle hit the 45!
