The publication is dedicated to the life and output of the genius Polish composer and his times. The author describes Chopin as a person on the background of the culture of his times, his friendships with the most famous and important artists of the 19th century, the places that were dear to his heart. A lively, interesting narration is combined with rich and important content based on the most contemporary knowledge about Chopin’s life. The last chapter is dedicated to Chopin’s works, but with not musicological analysis.
The illustrations prepared by Marta Ignerska show Chopin with homour and add a special, unique value to the book.
