Chiado Chair
Wood chair and inox hanger designed for MUJI.
Design / Aveiro University / Tutors: Rui Costa + Teresa Franqueira + Gonçalo Gomes + Miguel Vieira Baptista (2011)
This shows the process of designing a chair destined to restaurants, bars and other places according to the phylosophy and design aesthetic of MUJI, the renowned japanese "no-brand" retail company. The chair is named after the historic zone of Lisbon famous for its numerous restaurants, cafes, stores and night-life. It is also where is located the only MUJI store in Portugal.
The chair was designed and made by me and two other colleagues and then each one of us had to design an accessory for it. I created an inox, clip-like hanger, so that people could put their bags, coats, etc.
