Chelsea Craft
The Assignment: Students were given an empty lot and instructed to invent a retail business to occupy the space. Students were then responsible for designing the space to accommodate their invented business.
The lot provided is located on 24th street between 10th and 11th Avenue in New York City, directly underneath the High Line park. The surrounding area is populated by art galleries and a developing commercial area focused on arts and design, growing side by side with the existing industrial buildings and businesses.
