Che T-Shirt Project

The image of Che Geuvara is one of the most reproduced images in the entire world. I discovered after much research however that most people do not even know what he really stood for or who he really was. These minimalistic t-shirts speak to these ideas.
For this T-shirt I wanted to highlight the fact that no one really “knows” who Che was, or what he did. Yet at the same time his image is the most widely produced image around the world. People use his image, thinking that they know what it represents, but they really don’t. This image of Che has taken on a life of its own, containing its own meaning that is separate from that of the person which it represents.
This image deals simply with the mutiplicity of Che’s image throughout the world.
This image combines the addition sign with Che’s image to represent the multiplicity of Che’s image. It also plays off of the symbol of the red cross, which represents the little known fact that Che was actually a doctor.
