Through our personality branding process, Personality+, we enabled blind magician Chad Allen to go from performer to inspirational speaker and political spokesperson for the visually impaired.
Chad Allen was HAUS’ first personality branding case, which led to our Personality+ concept. Allen is a blind magician, which in itself sounds like something out of a freak show. But that is only until you meet the man. His charisma and the incredible magic he performs, robbed of the gift of sight, are both breathtaking. Chad Allen embodies perseverance and will power and is quite an inspiration. Our job was to create a brand identity and a website that would be just as inspirational and charismatic.
Chad Allen lifted magic out of it’s usual realm by taking sight out of the equation. So we decided to do the same. We took magic’s classic symbols; the club, the rabbit, the hat, the playing card, and placed them in a different environment – nature. By connecting the emotions of nature’s wonders to the wonders of magic and building a visual identity, we created the notion that real magic is not what happens on stage – but within us. And that’s the real magic of Chad Allen.
Our branding of Chad Allen as a person immediately gives everyone a stronger sense of who he is. This has not only worked wonders for Allen’s career, it has also made him an influential spokesperson for disabled people on Capitol Hill and in the White House, and even made him a hugely successful inspirational speaker.
