Center for Con'Tract Art

  • Design Studio II
    Artist-in-residency project
Teachers: Annie Coggan-Crawford + Lionel Ohayon
  • In New York City, communal living occurs outside our apartments: in the street, at the park, on the stoop. I brought this unique community condition to the Center for Con'Tract Art, my proposal for a new artist-in-residency and gallery space in Lower Manhattan's Battery Maritime Building. The artists live and work in shared studios and apartments, new brownstones that jut into the existing interior of this building that was abandoned 70 years ago.
