Here are a few catalog layouts I designed for Wine Enthusiast. We worked with the product merchants to allocate a percentage of page real estate to each product based on its past or projected sales performance. Back then and still now, I did a pencil sketch first to kick off the layout design. The creative director did not care for justified copy blocks, so we always flushed them left. I also performed the task of retouching most of these product shots.
