Cardiff School of Creative & Cultural Industries Branding
The brief was to design a brand for the Cardiff School of Creative & Cultural Industries. This included creating a logo as well as stationary and placing the logo as if it were being used today.
Starting with the Logo, I wanted it to be bold and link well to CCI. The final design is an abstract interpretation of the letters; CCI. The 2 shades of blue help separate the the C's and draw your eye to the centre of the circle, which is also the dot of the I. I feel this looks good as a shape and makes a good logo. I made it fit within a square as this helped form the base of the I and allows the logo to be place more easily. It also makes it look more formal, especially when the text is underneath it.
For the stationary I used a dark blue stripe on one edge to compliment the logo on the opposite side. It suits the professional look needed for a university and works well across all the stationary to create a strong brand image.
I also created separate logos for each faculty within CCI to demonstrate how the logo is versatile. It also looks good once placed onto the Atrium campus building.
