Capturing visitor narratives
Turning personal history into community history
Turning personal history into community history
Research for this project began with an audit of the narrative occurrences in exhibits at the North Carolina Museum of History. There were few venues for visitors to contribute to the community process of forming meaning, but visitors could be overheard telling stories about their own lives to their companions.
This interactive system was created to allow visitors to contribute their stories to the museum exhibits, pulling in oral histories and their own photo content, and then linking each resulting story with the rest of the community's stories through image tags.
