This group project was an experiment in tensegrity structures. The cantilever utilizes tensile strength to gain stability, and to make the wooden modules appear as if they are floating in mid-air.
The individual  wood and steel modules never touch- they are held together with steel cables, and rely on a precise balance of forces for stability.
The structure was entirely handmade by myself and  two other students in a wood and metal workshop. It was installed in the campus gardens, where it was exhibited for one month.
