Take a form of some sort and use that specific form to create your own typeface. That was the basic idea of this project.

I had an origami figure at home and thought I could use that as a starting point. What I did was: I cut out a lot of paper strips with a width of about one cm and started to fold them into different letters. When I had the whole alphabet i took a pencil and drawed the outline of each letter and then scanned the final drawed outline. Then it was to adjust the sizes of the letters to match in Adobe Illustrator. The x-height, overlength and underlength had to be simular trough the whole typeface. For the final project presentation I made a text consisting of 70 letters which I folded by hand.
