The history of Cachaça Sete Engenhos began more than 450 years ago, along with the foundation of Rio de Janeiro. Engenho São Miguel was founded in 1877 and reopened in 2010 by Haroldo Carneiro.

The locomotive reinforces the importance that the Central Mill had in the production of “Cachaça”, the Railway Line was created to facilitate and encourage the production. At the time, the Locomotive was a technological advancement so, we've decided to illustrate it as one of the main elements to bring presence, strength and tradition to the production of Cachaça. The locomotive is an Arnold Jung, which is found in the courtyard of the Central Mill.
The lettering ornaments help to break the rigidity of Slab Serif typography, it reinforces the connection between the African & Brazilian Culture. In this way the Brand fits better into the Brazilian market.
