The California State University, Long Beach design program offers design services to the community. It is comprised of a select group of designers in the program and headed by branding guru and professor Sunook Park. For the re-launch, since the retirement of Professor Tom Hall, Sunook opened a friendly competition to the first of this select group of designers to rebrand the workshop. Our team's approach was to emphasize the workshop's fresh and versatile individuals. The logo is created from the dynamic positive and negative space of the letterforms, which are then extracted as abstract shapes to create a variety of patterns.
