A show title piece for an Australian police drama called COPS L.A.C (Local Area Command).
This was a job that required a close up shoot of a stylised black police car (used in show) and scenes from
the show that have been composited into the panels to look as if they were reflections.
To do this within the budget restraints we had, we found it best to shoot the cop car with our Canon 5D,
both as stills and footage. We then dressed the stills in Photoshop to remove all unwanted reflections that
were existing to make way for the shows footage that was supplied to us.
Now for the second batch of footage. This was some night footage taken from a camera that was mounted to a car that drove through the city streets at night. This gave us a large amount of reflected night lights that we warped and transformed to fit the contours of the car we shot.
And finally, a soft camera drift and grade added in After Effect while composing the whole piece.
Combined with the reflective light footage, camera drift and a nice edit, this piece created a style that captured the shows vibrancy and attitude.
Soundtrack is Howlin' For You by The Black Keys.
