Illustration for the TELENOR art foundation. The works will be printed and exhibited in the TELENOR building in Belgrade. The Telenor Foundation wishes to support the development of cultural and art production and the art market, and encourage artists, particularly young artists, to continue working in Serbia. The Foundation launches and supports activities that contribute to the development and improvement of cultural life throughout Serbia and the decentralization of cultural production. It organizes competitions, exhibitions and other cultural events.
The Idea & Requirements:
These two pieces are a visual representation on the theme Marathon & Endurance. The task was to visually illustrate those two motives on canvas. Illustrations are made for the 2012 olympic games, so the connotation on the games is also an important aspect.
The Execution:
The first piece is representing the first runner of the marathon, the Pheidippides, a messenger from the Battle of Marathon. He is carrying his message running from mountain Penteli.
The second piece is a view on the marathon runner going throughout time and space without change as the distance for a marathon has not changed in the first time it was set. The distance is 42.195 km.
