CNC + VACUUM FORM

  • This is a series of formal experiments that were derived from previous ideas of how the profiles of lines can be lofted into curved surfaces. I created a 3D file in Rhino and then CNC milled a piece of foam. After the subtractive process of milling, I used a vacuum to heat and then form acryllics over the foam. There are many applications of this technology such as ceiling tiles, wall panels and furniture pieces.
