Concept video and album artwork for Chilly Gonzales' 'Solo Piano II'.
It's said the piano can paint the most colours of any instrument but the beauty of this album stems from its simplicity and purity. Black and white keys tell complex stories, I wanted to express this idea with my visuals.
Using motion capture I created a man that emerges from floating piano keys. Most of Chilly’s tracks begin quite abstract and improvised, his sophisticated melody’s emerge from something seemingly quite random. They refine like the silhouette in my motion graphic. The keys are inanimate floating objects that only come to life when moved.
