One of the five nominees at the Young Illustrators Award 2010 in the section of animations.
Four catfishes.
They breathe, slowly in catatonic state, in a land between the underground and the underwater of their own consciousness of anthropomorphic fishes.
Reality dulls senses and captures them/us so that it infects our imagination at all.
The traffic of the mind doesn’t satisfy itself in the idlness of the average fish.
Beard Mustache Butcher Cleaver. Do end and inertia really coincide?
Could the conclution repeat over and over again, giving rise to the déjà vu of the end? Obviously yes, since the short film has been devised as the graphic format of thematic channels, ready to be dissected in many more clips as a bumper.
Also the characters will live again to come with other ones in the other shorts, in order to depict an oneiric, ironic, oversexed world.
Mixed technique.
Animation frame by frame, set up with biro and caran d’ache, and in the close up with oilbar.The background is made with elements drawn in pencil and other ones carved in wood,and then animated in Adobe After Effect to create an estrangement effect and boost the oneiric nature of the animation.
Also chosen by Universal Italia to launch Shane Acker’s film “9” on My Movies Italia.
