Fire can move like water and managed to reach the inner fibres of wood as the ink penetrates below the skin in the tattoo, leaving intact the surface textures, or can affect deep furrows as wrinkles desired by time or programmed scarification.
Fire stories written on the wood with woodburning tools, torches and soldering irons that burn and affect the surface of the wood giving to each line a primordial force.

This is a journey through the great classics of the Japanese art of the 19th century.
The gestural virtuosity of the great masters of the brush
Katsushika Hokusai, Kawanabe Kyosai and Kano Hogai are reread through the force of fire.
Thank you for watching!
