Brooke and Brad approached me in late 2011 to design their wedding invitations. The wedding was to be in early autumn (March in Australia) 2012 at Kingsbrook Estate - a stunning vineyard in Currency Creek, South Australia.
From the very beginning both Brooke and Brad were insistent that the invitations have a point of difference - they didn't want to follow the trends or do what anyone else had done before. Brooke showed me a few invitations she had liked but other than that it really was left up to me to come up with something.
It was very important to them that the love heart be at the centre of the design - and as you can see from Emma Sharkey's photography, the love heart theme carried through to the gorgeous little chalkboard place tags.
The colour scheme developed slowly as the layers of water colour were added to the design. Brooke had yet to define any real colour scheme within the wedding so it came from a place inspired by organic colours, autumn hues and subtle shades to combine as a whole. The wedding had a real organic and rustic feel which echoed the design of the invitations.
The entire set was printed on ivory card with glitter throughout creating an ethereal and unique look.
