Brompton Cross is a stylish homeware store, catering for South Africa’s wealthier citizens. Its very niche market also includes editors of décor magazines and stylists. We were involved with the brand from the start, and developed a logo based on the owner’s ‘crossing’ from London to Cape Town. She also sources much of her stock from Europe, and then matches it with local pieces.
The idea of ‘hybridity’ from the was used for the point-of-sale posters. These were developed for the official launch, and juxtapose selected pieces in unusual combinations.
A toaster pops scatter cushions, an oven mitt doubles as cactus and the element found in a light bulb is replaces with a knife and fork.
