Brixie started as a sketch during Hannes Famira's workshop at the very beginning of the second term in type@cooper. Based on an even earlier reference (2003) of something I draw with a Calligraphy pen.
The idea was to transform this obviously display sketch into some more text-like without loosing it's appeal and uniqueness. It's most engaging feature is the slanted angle every character has, without loosing in any moment the verticality and solidity of both the baseline and the x-height line.
Project was guided by Jesse Reagan with advice from Cara di Eduardo, Hannes Famira, Sumner Stone & Cristobal Henestrosa. Brixie is planned to be expanded into a full family for 2013.
