British Woodlands

Created in response to a brief titled 'Panic' designed to be shown in an exhibition at the Noiselab Gallery space in Manchester.
The image is a collage of various animals found in Britain arranged to show an animal skull and also a human face. This arrangement is intended to show how Man's encroachment into Britain's woodland areas is proving lethal to the creatures who live there. Since the 1930's 50% of British woodland has been damaged or is completely lost due to urban encroachment.
The line and dot marks are designed to show the need to make a full stop on Britain's continuos destruction of it's woodland areas and the species that inhabit them.
