The brief for this project was to create an Interactive way for the public to engage with and learn about British music. After researching into the British Music Experience, I learnt that it was already a very interactive exhibition space. I really liked how when visiting the experience, you used your ticket throughout on scanners to receive content that you could access online afterwards to remember the experience.
I liked the idea of being able to take the experience with you after the exhibition, so I though that an application for a tablet such as the iPad would be perfect as it was both interactive and becoming popular amongst the public.
The app itself acts as a record player allowing the user to select which genre of British Music to explore. These are in the forms of LP disks. Once a genre is selected the LP is then put onto the record player for the user to select an area of interest about that particular genre to explore. To do this the user must drag the needle arm onto the topic of interest and then the turntable will start playing the "record". Once the record starts playing, the information will begin to load up and the user will be able navigate through text, image, videos and music by numerous touch features such as swiping.
This application will be made available to download after visiting the exhibition and can be interlinked with British Music Experience's existing scheme. It can also be showcased at the exhibition by putting an Ipad into a jukebox style case for added authenticity.
