Bristol Myers, Attorney-at-Law

website

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Bristol Myers, an attorney out of Austin, TX–my hometown. Bristol was a referral from my longest-standing client, who was looking to rebuild and redesign his current blog and website. He also wanted his new site to be built to scale around many different devices as more people are accessing sites using pads and smartphones.

Bristol was making some tough strategic decisions on the future of his practice and was looking to redesign and rebuild his site and blog to:

We worked together to dig into some industry research, as law firms have been struggling in the last few years, and help that shape the new design and content as well. From there I worked with Bristol to determine what content and what continued content (case studies, legal resource articles, client reviews) would be valuable to potential clients and Bristol got to work on writing this new content.

We collaborated on the initial designs for the home page, which we both agreed were the most important aspect of his new site. We wanted the home page to serve as a resume that would highlight everything that a potential client would want to know about Bristol as an attorney to allow them fast validation of Bristol as a credible and trustworthy attorney–which he absolutely is!

From there I jumped right into development and "designed" the rest of the site in the browser, which resulted in a decrease in time of the overall project and faster feedback between Bristol and I on the rest of the site's pages. The backend or underneath the hood of the site, if you will, is jam packed with rich, semantic goodness and Bristol was elated with the results of the progressive approach:

Kind Words:

I had only one site design done, before working with Ryan, by a large company that offers an array of information services to lawyers, and web design was just an add-on component to what that company is really known for. They were dry, formulaic and showed little concern for what I thought my site should contain.

As I learned from Ryan, your website is more about understanding your business and the image you want to portray than it is about writing computer code.

Ryan was referred to me by one of my closest friends, so I really didn't have any reservations about working with him.

If you’re trying to run a small business and you’re on the fence about whether you need a website in this day and age, there’s nothing I can say to help you. But if you have a website, and if you want to maximize its value, you need a professional like Ryan. You’re just not going to get the results you want playing around with GoDaddy templates in your free time. And as I learned from Ryan, your website is more about understanding your business and the image you want to portray than it is about writing computer code.

I was highly impressed by Ryan’s insistence upon learning everything he could about the legal services industry in general, and about my law practice specifically. I learned a lot about law firm marketing that I didn’t know, thanks to Ryan’s research at the beginning of my project.

I won’t consider making any changes to my website in the future without consulting Ryan first.

In a smaller law firm like mine, I wear a lot of hats besides “lawyer” to keep the practice running at top level. It’s easy to back-burner creative projects like website redesign. Ryan broke my project down into manageable pieces, assigned me those items that needed my personal involvement, and checked in regularly to show how we were making constant progress.

I won’t consider making any changes to my website in the future without consulting Ryan first. He’s a true professional who’s easy to work with too.
