"Venturis Ventis ("Aos ventos que hão de vir") es el lema en latín de la ciudad de Brasilia.Es también una frase que resume mi deseo en este brindis por los 5 años de Brasilia Prima, un estudio -pero por sobre todas las cosas, un grupo humano- que adoro."

"I was really interested in the fact the city was just planted there. I spent some time wandering around the city in google maps satellite view, and it really reminded me of the Canberra, the capitol city of my home country Australia. It was constructed from nothing, just like brasilia, and at the time it held all this potential for new city design and modern architecture. Somehow these constructed cities always have a sense to me that they hover above their adopted landscape. It's almost like they are modern shamen, projecting a beautiful new future / life / philosophy in the middle of a new place.
So here we see some abstractions of the Brasilia architectural forms radiating above the simple natural landscape where it has been planted..."

"The pattern starts at the pink and pale green lines that are drawn after the real plan of Brasilia. The structure is growing to all sides as the city has been growing fast in the last fifty years of existence. The elements of the graphic symbolize the communication between the people of Brasilia."

"Our intent to celebrate this anniversary has been followed keeping an eye on the curve lines of the rationalist dream of the famous Architect OSCAR NIEMEYER who gave life to this city; at the same time we have been recalling the cleanness of the graphic thinking who was developed right in the 50’s of past century, years where Brasilia was starting to arise."

"We looked at Brasilia and how it was carved out of the land from scratch.
We also looked at Oscar Niemeyer and his fascination with the futuristic and iconic.
Our approach was to cut and form the elements using knives in a freeform gestural manner,
then collage the results. The typeface used for the numerals was designed at Tomato as
a systems based modular font."
