The vast extent of the University campus in Athens and many buildings is necessary to clear and understandable directions to the places where moving daily about 15,000 people, if you counted and visitors of these buildings. This need was the main reason to create a series of logos and pictograms that will be easily understood and will drive with speed and safety all the attendees to their point of choice.
In the first design solutions for the brand logo of NTUA, the final figure shows four concentric circles of which only some parts seem able to give their existence. The circles are positioned in such a way that implied the notion of amphitheater but this being the main element of composition.
At the center of concentric circles placed the flame of knowledge, while referring to the “Pyrophoros” in the previous emblem of the NTUA. Due to the nature of the institution all parts of the emblem is created out of geometric and biomorphic shapes trying to strike a balance between nature and geometry.
