This Pharmacology Nursing text book was full of elements needing a clear yet bright and reader-friendly design approach. Material was divided into sections and chapters; chapter content was varied and complex. I used color as a navigational device to separate the sections and then tied the chapter elements together with a bright palette and simple typographic treatments.
I do not handle typesetting and layout of live pages for Elsevier but rather design a sample chapter or two which includes all design elements present in the manuscript. I then then create a set of written specifications covering all elements for the compositor to follow. Sample InDesign files with master pages and style sheets are also provided.
