The name Kaihua is taken from the chinese characters 开花 which literally translates to "open flower". Hinting at the blooming nature of the tea leaves.
The blooming flower tea is a performance. When steeped, the bundle expands and unfurls in a process that emulates a blooming flower, while the flowers inside emerge as the centerpiece.
 
Likewise, the packaging is inspired by the same blooming characteristics of the tea and intricate chinese patterns to create an opening ceremony that reflects the hidden beauty that is reveal when you watch a the tea bloom into a flower.
