Artwork for the RE COVER
exhibition at Pop Up Galerie, Paris. The exhibition was organised by my illustration agents in France, La Suite
, who asked each artist to choose a classic album sleeve and 'Re Cover' it, taking inspiration from the original but adding our own illustrative styles. I chose Björk's 'Post' album from 1995, which was a great inspiration to me at the time. I used the creation process as an opportunity to take myself back to that inspiration and rediscover the emotion and passion within the album all over again, putting it into my artwork now, almost 20 years later.
You'll see two versions of the artwork here, the initial version was an experiment inspired by the varying loudness and quietness you can find in this album (perhaps shown best in the track 'It's Oh So Quiet'). This initial version has a loud and quiet side, and could be hung either way up, even down to the ambigram 'Bjork' type. We decided however that this version had strayed too much from being a 'Re Cover' of the original sleeve artwork, so moved on to something that gave the audience a far clearer view of which album cover it was!
Having spent some really enjoyable time indulging myself in my passion for music, and the inspiration I take from it, I would really love to do more similar projects, for album sleeve artwork or exhibitions, so if you would like to talk to me about a potential project please do email
