This is a series of posters created for a contest sponsored by SLU's Billiken Club. The event featured three nights of live music to collect donations for the Urban Studio. The contest called for a poster design for any of the concerts or an overall event poster, so I choose to design all four. My intent was for each to stand on its own (in case just one poster was selected rather than the series). I wanted there to be stylistic variation based on how I interpreted each band's music, but I did choose to utilize typography as a unifying element (Avenir is used as the secondary typeface on all posters).
Oddlyenough, the Billiken Club never announced a winner (perhaps due to lack of interestin the contest or due to the tight deadline), but overall it was fun to work on and I was happy with what I was able to come up with on such short notice. Also, British Sea Power is fantastic live and played a very memorable show that Saturday night.
