Beurrier open-source

Beurrier // Butter dish
This butter dish was initially designed for a local pottery course (and to improve a precedent model).
As a way to indirectly reduce the amount of packaging generated when we buy butter in a plastic shell rather than with just a thin film (it's one of many ideas, developed for my thesis about "packaging and sustainable development")

Its minimalistic design was made to be easy to manufacture, and the most simply possible keep the butter and the lid in place with the two bumps.
Whereas the space under the base is made, not just for the style, but to take and hold the whole; while the two notches on the flank of the lid are made to grab it.
You can see the entire making-of on my blog here :  http://watsdesign.blogspot.com/2010/06/beurrier-open-source.html
And if you have a Reprap, the open-source files are available on Thingiverse : http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3438
