The “Betacup” design
competition was issued to explore innovative solutions to reduce the number of
non-recyclable cups used in everyday life.
The reusable grocery
bag concept inspired my solution; the consumer brings his own cup. This concept
allows the user to use it in different settings; using different coffee shop,
re-fill at home/office, and much more. The cup comes in different sizes depending on the drinking
habit of the user.
The coffee shop would offer the option of cleaning the cup
(through steaming water) and also give extra bonuses to the users, for a “green
initiative”. The cups can also be customizable for personal use; add a branded
cup holder, cup warmer (with candle) and cap for transport.
