The Germaine Lawrence Academy is a residential treatment center for troubled adolescent girls that have suffered emotional or physical trauma. Each year they create an invitation around an inspirational theme. Centered around the concept of “believe”, the invitation presented itself as a playfully folded mailer. The word “impossible” is interactively transformed into “I am possible,” a message which seems very fitting for the eventual transformation of the young women in the programs. The motif of a cygnet revealing into a swan alluded to the story of the ugly duckling, and carried through the message that what might seem impossible now is possible with belief, perseverance, and the help of The Germaine Lawrence Academy.
