Barbados Football Legends

Barbados Legends is an annual football tournament hosted by British Airways, Barbados Tourism Board and the PFA, featuring some legendary players from Premiership's past. The tournament has included players such as Roberto DiMatteo, Gianfranco Zola, Andy Cole and Alan Shearer.
I was involved in branding the event with the design team at Absolute Media, creating an overall concept, artwork for the crests and a series of hand-drawn player illustrations.
Admittedly, I am not a big fan of football, but I remembered friends collecting the old Panini sticker books as kids in school, with each player having their own card and each team having a "foil" sticker of their emblem and bartering them on the playground. This was used as a starting point for developing the branding and retro feel for the event, which included the main website, logos for each team, player illustrations and team kits.
