The large display about our Bambisanani Partnership is on a corridor outside our main hall. It replaced a five year old display (also about the partnership) consisting of small photographs and faded press cuttings. An aim of the project stated by David Geldart was to reflect the milestones in our Bambisanani Partnership's history in a display that was 'museum quality'.
The timeline, showing major events in the history of the partnership, was inspired by the acclaimed book Bambisanani: The First Five Years. I wrote the copy, based on 26,000 words in the book. It mentions several of our supporters and a local primary school.
It is a single piece of foamex 245cm x 123cm and was printed by Quarmby Colour in Leeds. The display is stuck on the wall by double sided tape.
I found it difficult to work on the 15 inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display as there was so much zooming in and out. The foamex has been scratched accidentally by pupils' bags but we still do not want to put it behind perspex.
The display has proved extremely popular with staff and students. Indeed, it is the most praised display in 2012-13 at St. Mary's Menston. People like that is a single piece of foamex.
