Azafrán is a local (Costa Rican) restaurant chain that has been on ground for at least 20 years. However, they recently rented a site in the city center, and wanted to refresh their image. I worked along acknowledged Costa Rican interior designer Julieta Jurado from Indiseño Centroamerica, to give the place a simple, clean and "industrial" (per client's request) feel. The graphic image was briefed to be a "clean contemporary retro". I worked with the interior designer to make the space very clean, but give the image lots of color, so there would be lots of contrast, yet nothing that could overwhelm the costumers.
