Away from the shine are many neighbourhoods of 16-million people city laying on Bosphorus. Away from tourists, away from opulent ottoman legacies, away from the Turkish TV series glow.
Those neighbourhoods are home to people in whose eyes we see the same shine, we hear music from their mouth and feel magnetic forces out of their souls. So powerful that they enchant you forever and keep you coming back. There where the humanity is being measured by good deeds and where real life goes on.
My obsession with that evolves to love. I let my emotions to click the shutter. I want to capture tiny fragments of their lives, their battle for what’s left of humanity on our planet. Their suffering, happiness, joy, children’s play and sometimes almost ridiculous seriousness. I keep coming back to them for years.
