For the corporate identity we aimed to developed a professional, fresh, modern and weightless design around the brand. The goal was to reinforce the ABA values. We incorporated a light neutral gray as a third color and striped areas as a graphic element to simulate labels (labels are a way to classify information just as biologist do). Documentation is one of the pillars of biology thus we used Orbi as the corporate font, which is an new elegant serif font designed by Natalia Vasilyeva, perfectly for books and periodicals.
We created and incorporated an Isotype to the brand that can be applied as a complement and extend the brand. We decided to symbolize a tree. The three interlacing circles stand for the three types of members which are scientist, teachers and freelancer. Naturally the circle indicates the concept of community.

The redesign of the brand should be a natural step forward. To underline the professional character of the association we decided to change from handwritten letters to printed letters.
We kept the colors of the old logo and maid green the main color which represents botany but it is also known as the bio-color. Life is green! The change to a fresh and modern green reflects the young and active spirit of the ABA team. The secondary color is red, that stands for zoology. We love the contrast created by the combination of both colors that also represent the two main branches within biology.
