Hello there.

Like most designers, I’m one of a kind; too weird to live, too rare to die. Unlike most, when I have my head in the clouds, it’s because I’m checking out the competition. After all, I’m a designer and a businessman, there really is no separation. As an independent multimedia designer with a Bachelor's Degree in Multimedia Advertising and Design I’m fully aware of the impact of successful marketing and personal branding. Behind every explosive campaign is a great idea; it all starts with a great concept. Without a proper foundation and the right hands to build it, Design has no direction. I’m here to solve problems, provide great ideas, give insight into the competitive marketplace, and somewhere along the line, you’ll get some great design out of me too.

Great design is simple really, great ideas however are revered; this belief is at the forefront of every project I undertake. It makes my first step in the design process of any medium an easy one; identify the problem or goal at hand. Simply put, there would be no other steps without step one. I then clarify the main objective through extensive market and project based research before finally entering the next stage of conceptualization; sketching. That’s right, I still remember how to use a pencil and paper, and many a rough-hewn shape born from my sketchbook has gone on to do great things. Once I'm fully satisfied with the conceptual direction I'm undertaking, things really come to life and the necessary elements of a project begin to materialize based upon a well-established foundation. Although skilled in Adobe Creative Suite I find myself working primarily in Adobe Illustrator where I begin to create compositions based upon my research and conceptualization. Driven by inspiration from German Minimalism, De Stijl, and Japanese Block-prints I find Illustrator to be a precise and powerful tool in my pursuit for perfect spatial awareness and alignment in my projects as well as in the creation and manipulation of geometric and type based elements, both of which are heavily used themes in my work at large. Color for me, possibly more than most, is quite an intriguing beast. Being color-blind I feel as though I see color quite differently than most, leading me to work predominantly with large swaths of vibrant, rich color and bold outlines. It is this affinity for vibrant color, dynamic font use, bold line-work, and heavily geometric compositions that truly sets my work apart as clean, minimal, symbolic, and full of flavor.

As a designer I feel it is a necessity to push boundaries, be original, and above all, represent and communicate with the world at large in a cohesive and fluent manner. To me this means getting out there, experiencing life for all it has to give and keeping my eyes open for the things everyone else misses; there is no better source for inspiration than the world around you. In this way I challenge myself daily to stay relevant while incorporating a broad foundation of proven technique and experience passed along by those creative’s who have come before me. I seek to integrate old views with new ideas and push people to look further. Recently I’ve been working predominantly with type, both as a tool for communication and as a nearly limitless graphic element. My main objective lies in the fusion of graphic communication, causing the viewer to double-take and ask, “Just what is it that I see?” My motivation is simple; Zen- like in presentation, complex simplicity both baffling and easily communicated. Geometric shapes, lines, pure color, and the use of spatial awareness in composition are universal in their communication; so is our need to see deeper, to find the truth. I want to create work that allows anyone, anywhere, the pleasure of seeing and finding for themselves. I want to pass down great things.
