  • The story deals with a breakup between the two protagonists. The crunch moment is the phone call which the narrator on the left picks up- meant for his soon-to-be ex.
  • The deadline was quite tight on this one and although I liked the angle, I was never happy with some elements- chief among them being this face. It is a difficult angle to pull off but it realy didn't work as I intended. The expression did not quite convey what I wanted, either.
  • This one worked better, I think so I made only minimal changes to this one.
  • The redrawn face. Much happier with this- not ony is it corrected, I think the expression displays what I was seeking: regret mixed with mild embarrassment which the other character should really be feeling but isn't.
  • Another redraw- the right hand. The narrator describes himself as being in posession of a "wine belly". As he is a little self- conscious about it and is feeling somewhat sickened by the situation, this seemed to me to accurately describe his frame of mind in this moment.
