While working as an intern for the MLB Houston Astros, I was charged with coming up with a way to archive past jobs while at the same time manage the current job schedule. In speaking with my supervisor, he indicated that he wanted to use Filemaker Pro for its vast data handling capabilities as well as it's ability to be made aesthetically pleasing. I adopted a template calendar developed by seedcode and then migrated data from excel spread sheets into the database. Additionally several tables were created and related, several scripts were written and finally the aesthetic design was added. The result was a calendar that came with day, week and month views - much like MS Outlook, but with the added functionality of an archiving, searchable database in which jobs can be entered with ease as well as searched by job number, date, designer, or keyword. Jobs can be entered from any view and are sorted and entered into the archive upon entry.
