UWSP was presented with the opportunity to produce a public sculpture for the Pineries Bank in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. In return for producing the sculpture, the University would receive a $25,000 endowment. I was recruited to join the public sculpture class that formed to produce the work. Ultimately, the design I was lead on was selected and executed. In addition to design, I served as the project manager. I coordinated venders, donations, and work schedules to ensure the sculpture was completed on time and on budget.
Ascension channels the Pineries Bank's rustic imagery with an abstract treatment of a eagle soaring.
Materials used: Steel, Hemlock wood (which was recycled from a demolished historical local business), Concrete, and Field Stones (provided by bank employees from their own properties).
