Art Direction
This is a collaborated project I did with a great illustrator Ramon Rodriguez. My idea for this illustration was to showcase the “ingredients” creatives use as a tribute to artists and designers. We as creatives are full of ideas, requiring various tools to bring our concepts to life. Pencils, keyboards, markers, and sketch paper are just a few of the many tools that make up the creatives’ arsenal.
I was asked to contribute some ideas for the type used on Sky James’ album cover titled “Dreamable Music.” This indie song writer and rapper’s concept behind the cover revolved around the idea of reaching for your dreams and taking a leap. I thought a hand-drawn sans serif font would best capture the surreal feeling of the illustration.
