RESTAURANT
ART CHOC
HASSELT, BELGIUM
Art Choc is more than a restaurant. It also holds the workshop and showroom of a passionate goldsmith and an art-gallery. All these different functions needed to have their own identity and entrance, but should also inspire eachoter, and their visitors, to cross over.
For this project I found my inspiration in an artwork from Jeroen Bosch, ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’. Why? The delicious food, the sophisticated jewelry and the modern arts are delights, the extras that make lift just that little bit better and more pleasant. The concept for Art Choc could be resumed as: ‘Art Choc is a garden in which delights are all around, and in each part of the interior you can recognize parts of the garden.
