I decided to look into a school as a continuation of this project as I felt the eerie connotations of there being no children visible within the location of the school would work effectively. The school I chose was Sarum Academy in Salisbury. This school appeared to be quite unusual due to the black-walled hall within the school. I found this space so interesting as you wouldn’t expect a room in a school to be painted black. The contrast in the walls and floor is interesting as this would usually be the other way around. I also think the contrast in details is really interesting, for instance, the cross above the door way and the disco ball at the top of the room, these two objects aren’t generally associated with each other and therefore it is so surprising that they are here together in this space, making the space itself a lot more interesting.
