Building on the success of Spaceman Stu for McDonalds, Leo Burnett asked Kompost to capture the naturalism of the life cycle of an apple tree and a family. Using birds as a metaphor for the family, the apple tree and the birds interact during their growth and the seasons. The mother bird builds a red nest in the apple tree; the baby birds arrive; all eagerly await the ripening of the juicy apple; the apple finally falls into the nest, transformed by this time to a McDonald’s HappyMeal Box; the family is filled with joy. The simple story line is developed through fascinating animation with beautiful imagery that lingers in the memory.
