T-Shirt Design - Sports Teams
I'm a sports fan, with hockey being my favourite; like any other red blooded Canadian male. But I rarely buy anything because most designs, I think, are just not that great. For me to make the purchase and wear anything with a logo on it in the first place, does not happen that often. So it has to have some style. Simplicity is key, as is the size of the graphics and the type faces that are utilized. These are some concepts I worked up with more to come as I find the time, and the inspiration, to generate more.
T-Shirt Design - Recording Artists / Tour T-Shirts
I recently started creating designs and entering them in contests on-line. They're fun to do, with free creative reign, and make for great practice as well as spec pieces. The design below was created for the 2012 NAMM Show in Pasadena, Ca. The brief was it had to illustrate rock music, have attitude, but have a vintage feel from the 50's. The show is sponsored by Fender Gutiars but you were not allowed to use the Fender logo OR any guitar references or images.
Nothing says attitude more than James Dean, complete with a cigarette dangling from the corner of his mouth.
Nostalgia? Tail fins from a '57 Chevy should do. Complete with a V-8 insignia framed in flames. Add a splash of California, wtih some palm trees siloutted against the grooves of a vinyl record and there you have it. I think it screames "cool" but hey, that's just me.
