Animated music video, 'The Early Sheets'

In 2008, Norfolk-based band The Lost Levels approached me to create an animated music promo for their upcoming single, 'The Early Sheets'.

The Concept:
The main character, Enzo (a pastiche of other 8-bit heroes, such as Mario), journeys from his humble pixellated beginnings, through the dangerous Vector World, before finding himself in the increasingly hazardous environment of The Real World. The intention was to create a humorous and oftentimes surreal visual story, to compliment the rhythm of the music and the lyrics.

All modelling was undertaken in Silo, and animation was produced in Maya.

Upon it's release, the video garnered a lot of attention from the following publications, websites and events:

- Creative East Awards - Animation category Nominee, 2009
- BBC Introducing Music Video festival - Featured, 2009
- Myspace Video 'Editors Picks' - Selected, 2009
- Radar Music Videos 'Promoted Video' - Featured, 2009
- Vimeo's staff picks 'Trophy of Awesomeness' - Awarded, 2009
- Computer Arts Projects magazine #117 - Interview & coverdisc featured, 2008
- Nevercenter.com (Silo publishers) - Interview, 2009
- Guardian Gaming Blog - Interview & full-page feature, 2008
